beach fishing

hey guys..need some help on beach fishing.dont have a clue about fishing from the beach,so any info or tips will be very helpful...what are gutters,sandbars,etc.how to look for them?thanks = ]

how to explain this
basically a gutter is a deep channel of water which ussually runs parallel to the beach
sandbar on the otherhand is a rise in level of the sea floor comprising of sandfunnily enough
if you go for a swim around scarborough you will know what i mean
