The keepers

We kept enough for a feed. A couple of schoolys for the kipper box and some scarlets. The others look like jacks but they were in 30 meters of water. I didn't think jacks went that far out. Any ideas?

Nice Haul there Mick, I think you'll find they're Crimson Seaperch and Dark Tailed Snapper ;-). Jacks will move well offshore though even deeper than 30 meters.

Dark tailed seaperch and crimsons by the look. The dark tails have the smallest white line on the inside of their tail fork. Mind you, you still get jacks out in the deeper stuff as daisy mentioned, thing is they look almost identical and are tough to identify.  Good to chew on anyway.
