Exceeded CPU Quota
Submitted by dpost80 on Tue, 2008-07-22 15:41.
Every now and then (twice today), my fishwrecked screen decideds to freeze and I get a screen from bluehost telling me that this site has exceeded its CPU Quota.... What's this all about? Am I doing something wrong on my end?
cheers,
damo

Apparently!
It's a fail safe built into the internal mechanism of the hard drive to prevent overloading the rams gigabits with excess PORN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hahah
Classic Damo! Yes it is a self stopping mechanism from the hosts's end. Its stops spammers from running logon scripts against the site, otherwise they would just continually do it until they found a log on and then blammo, porn and telephone sales links everywhere. Once they exceed a certain amount of functions in a certain period of time the CPU exceeds its limit and resets within a minute or two.
I have considered going to a higher CPU, but that might just mean they can run these scripts for longer. I will do some more investigating when my mate gets back from O/S, rather frustrating, but just give it a minute or two after it comes up and you should be able to get back in no probs. That donation money will be coming in very handy to try and fix it!! Thanks again guys.
Cheers,
Adam

The site was getting hammered last nite though, much worse than I've noticed before. Perhaps someone else on the same machine has some broken scripts.
