Prawn Platter

Headed down to the river last night at short notice.  My buddy Brad and myself being the only divers for the night.  In the water at 6pm north of Bicton, our 2nd time at this location.

The old goolies retracted rapidly as usual with entry (hmm still got a leak in the suit) but I planned ahead with some 38 degree liquid release to counter the cold surface water entry.

Actually, once on the bottom the temperature was not that bad.

Anyway, nice sandy bottom out in the middle ground and plenty of prawns about.  Crab numbers are still very good with plenty of sonkers about.  With a bit of navigation confusion we both lost a bit of hunting time aswell but both ended up with close to 2kg of prawns.

Last nights effort from myself;

The platter;

Don’t know how big scallops get, but this is the best that I have seen – 125mm.

Cheers Pete

Prawn Platter

Well haven't the stakes been raised now!!!!!!!!!

In future, all fish photos MUST be attractively presented in some artistic art form. Attention to aethestics, shape, form and colour will attract more points.

Note to Pete D.    Pete, the feelers are NOT in line, Attention to detail please!

Note to Goatrutar. Paver shots are OUT!. Kitchen sinks with randomly placed prawns, scallops and crabs are so yesterday.

Hahaha Willy

With my skill in the kitchen, they just fell from my net into that formationLaughing, but yes, alas I was slack with the finishing touches.

Totally agree with the paver shot comment though.

Cheers Pete

Thu, 2008-07-17 08:57

 The down size of them scallies is th lack of meat compared to their size.The smooth shell ones have a heap of meat in them!
