crabbing..... onslow style ;)... edited version
well finally managed to get of my backside and post some pics...
here is a report on our crabbing day.
we left onslow and headed 20 odd k's up the coast to some mangrove islands we saw on the charts that showed interesting series of big creeks in behind them on the mainland....
on arrival...it was time to ready the nets that big john kindly let us borrow for the day...
after finding what eventually turned out to be the magic creek, we managed to get some sucess with 3 decent crabs...

a close up me holding one to give you a idea of the sizes...
i was graced with a nasty view... maxy on the bow sprit bending over to retriev the nets...in his underwear!!! i dont know why, but he likes to fish in his jocks?????
playing up for the camera!!!! he is a exhibitionist i reckon...
some of the crabs caught over a couple of hours...
as we took this series of pics, a decent shark swam through... distracting us all...
was a good day for us with 8 big mud crabs caught... jody got her big qld grouper.... kasey and neil got a couple of crabs... and noha got the rental boat stuck in a creek, and on a rocky bar!! ( he got caught out by the falling tide...oops)
so that is a quick summary of a fun day on the water.... more pics to follow....
