It was a jigrex an only 3 weeks old I think i got a very similar pic,That fella in the background snapped his rod too, That was a good serious day sambo jigging early last season,Cant wait for this year..
If I could add pics to my posts it would be here instead of a link.... um... Adam... Please.... No Icons...
Ya shouldhav seen us all waiting around for one deckie to finish fightin his sambo on a cal 40or somethin small like it.. http://fishwrecked.com/node/13781
Don't want to upset anybody here, but I guess the obvious question that needs to be asked is, 'are you setting the drag' too high? (Accepting that there will always be the posibility of dud rods). But, if I may say, two rods on one day = 2 dud rods?
Lindsay - Don't you have a T-Curve 400? LOL. I pulled a 20K Sambo up from only 15m with a 200 - no problems at all.

Is the 400 a deep jig trigger Lindsay? They'd be rated for fairly heavy Jigs. Too stiff or you just worried about the break? Remember this thread is about snapped Jigwrex rods LOL (well one anyway).
Between the Sambo and the Queeny - hmmm, different fights. Sambo was longer and overall stronger - but your right, the 'sudden lunge' factor was definately with the queenie, and, let's face it, it's the sudden lunch and that brief moment before the drag cuts in that will do the damage.

The only reason I have the 400 is it came with the 10000 when I bought it off Kez, don't get me wrong T-Curves are a good rod but I would use my JigMaster or Ugly stick Jig before it every day of the week as they feel better.
Haven't owned a 400 Lindsay, but I've read that the 200 and 400 are very different (more than they obviously should be). I know some don;t like the parabolic nature of the 200, some saying that they put too much pressure low down. What do you like about the Jigmaster or USJ over the 400 DJT (presume it is a DJT?).

ive got a few t curve rods the 400 being my fave its caught a lotta big fish and never missed a beat would have a 200 or a 400 in a second ,some ppl say the 400 is a bit stiff but each to their own
The US has a lighter action but feels stronger and the Jigmaster has a more even curve and even though it is the same rating as the 400 is easier to use.
Stiffness, Curve and just the general feel of it, Its hard to explain but hook up a big sambo and at the end of the fight your arms don't hurt as much.
This being said I have not used the Spin version of the 400 (which I now own) for jigging, I have only used the O/H version (borrowed) and then bought the US.

Yep
I do have a T-Curve 400 but I would not jig with it.
I have seen and heard about too many snapping (may or may not be the rods fault)
ps: Only a 20kg sambo, that big queeny you caught would have given a better fight
As you say with the correct drag settings and technique you will never snap a rod unless it is a dud.

Cheers Lindsay - easier?
Sorry to press this Lindsay, but I'm interested - what make the JM 'easier to use' than the TCDJ? Just the curve, or other factors?
