404 error message

Hi Guys,

I don't often see this error message come up when I'm browsing, but its obvious that a lot of you guys do.  Can you guys please let me know when it happens, or what you are trying to look at when it does so I can try and alleviate the problem.

Cheers,

Adam

Adam - 404

Thu, 2008-06-19 11:01

I noticed under the Popular Content List on the BRHS of the main page, the first item in the Today's section is the topic

404 - Page Not Found

Could it be that people are seeing that and clicking on it and/or it attains that status because that page is invoked for other reasons?

Dont think so Col

Thu, 2008-06-19 11:22

Nah, I dont think thats it Col.  Based upon the number of views it has received it has to be an error message derived from something on the site.  I think it has been seen 14,000 times in only a few weeks which is concerning.

I take it that you can't have experienced it?

Cheers,

Adam

Cheers Matt, will look into that one.

Thats a new one Lindsay, can't say I've had that one occur either.

While we are at it, anything else?  I will have a list ready to go when my techo gets back from Canada.

Hyperlinks

Thu, 2008-06-19 11:37

Mentioned this before Adam, when we click on a hyperlink, can it open another tab or session rather than take you offsite - yup; I know using FF I can right click and select from the dialogue list, but would be good not to have to do that?

they can

Thu, 2008-06-19 11:42

I could make the photo galleries like that, but I have ordered them from the first guys to jump on and major contributors in the early days and then onto the newer galleries.  I move them about depending upon who's putting up photo's, mind you, I have re-ordered them for quite some time.

As for this logging out business, very strange indeed.

I will look into the new window hyperlink Col, just depends how embedded it is within the code or if its a simple option that needs changing.

Thu, 2008-06-19 22:16

I have removed the learning about donating link, hopefully that will stop the 404 error.  If you guys notice 404 errors for any other page, please let me know so I can try solve it.

Cheers,

Adam
