kasey, i imagine if the oppertunity arises for some popper fishing, i myself will give it a go!!! fancy feeling the hurt of some xos gt's??? lol ...at the end of the day, it will be a bit of a group decision on the boat each day on what we do ( weather influence's, general moods, personal goals etc...)...come along dude...should be a blast!!!

P.S. Learnt how to troll for marlin on 8ft GT rods and spinning reels in New caledonia. Can be alot of fun! Unfortunately all we landed that day were barracuda, but they've done up to 400lb blues.

Plan A for us is too leave fri 13th 5am stay in carnarvon or a little further depending
how were traveling and time and is it beer aclock sleep in a truck bay and head
of in the morning leaving maybe 350 to 500kms depending were we stay for the night.

No lobster season there as its just past the 21'44 south border all you need is a licence
so hopefull we can get a feed of them as well.
And will be taking the crab nets for some muddies x our fingers.

used google earth shows the boat ramp in the creek and can see the pool at the chalets and
a bit of a look at the coast line looks like plenty of creeks.

OK guys I have had 4 other people express interest in going on this trip. Thats enough for other boat. NoWorries. If we can get your boat running sweet are you interested in bringing the boat up with two other persons.

Accomadation is the issue but there is still the chalets at the caravan park or at worst a tent site.

Still again I was looking at throwing a dingy on the car roof so each day someone can take turns fishing the creeks and feeding us all with mudcrabs. Or tow it out to the islands and leave a crew to dive and fish the shallow coral areas. Thats something that all can take a turn at.

Fishing four up in a boat is not hard as 3 fish and one stands back and as one pulls in fish or to rebait he takes his spot. The guy that pulled up rebaits and waits for the next guy to pull up.

Baits when on good ground dont last long so it works well.

I tow the boat with a Commodore and think it would
die a horrble trip if I took it that far with the boat
on the back.

Unless I can get the wife back to work sooner and get the Prado I have been wanting.

Jody, you can never take to much gear as long as you have the room.

Will touch base with someone closer to the date and see if anyone is keen to meet up at long island. I think its about 70nm from exy but less than half that from Onslow. If any of you guys are keen let me know. I will prob do an overnighter on the island.

Well after the last few days in Kalbarri gettin smashed by strong southerlies for very little fish June cant get here quick enough. 

330km travelled at sea in three days for 8 redthroats and a couple of baldies.

has there been any decision on the extra boats going up (noworries boss lady ) lol cause i have a huge bloody tent that will sleep a about 6 comfortably (the taj maihale) and it even has room for the cook lol

there will be 3 dedicated GT rods if anyone who doesn't have one would like to give it a try.

If you take your boat up I can leave mine at home, and take my pioneer campertrailer and all your camping gear for you....???!!!, Oh Am I coming along???? I wish???

But iam not sure if it is worth it for only one trip

steve, i'm sure we can sort something out. The lightest one I have is very easy to cast and can knock in a sub-20kg GT without too much problems.

as long as you remember that it's graphite, so no high sticking or hard sharp knocks, i don't have a problem with it.

If its only for one trip, sinking 400-500$ isn't value for money IMO.

I have to cancel my interest as I have been told by my wife and I quote.
"There is no way in hell that you are leaving me for a week with a 2yr old and a 5mth old."

Just got back from exxy... ad's will have some GT video to get you guys going shortly.. (including some nice wipeout strikes; pity I wasn't able to record a couple of fish that went airborne to hit. one would have been a behemoth 30kg, which cleared about half a foot of water)

Honestly, the fishing-equivalent of Viagra. Learnt alot about feeding patterns and boat positioning, especially with Steve (great skipper).

I really really hope I get to do it again soon.

Well here is to hoping we can put all that knowledge to good use out of Onslow then.

i got back yesterday and had some bags to rinse. put it on a shelf to dry, and didn't notice that it was dripping straight onto my laptop.

i've done the trifecta in a week now; phone, camera and laptop. i'm a lucky boy now aren't i.
