USA frogs

USA frogs

We are heading up the dam for the full moon in a couple of weeks so I ordered these frogs from Cabela's in America , ordered on the 28th of Dec and arrived today , not too shabby I recon .
I thought I bought some bright yellow one's with black flecks but must of clicked on the orange one's instead .
Anyway I recon the fish won't mind what colour they are , pitty I have to order from US for anything freshwater related .

Excellent source of protein

For the fish
.
Everywhere we go we hear the buggers croaking etc so they must be a food source , even for Brim etc I am going down the river this week to give them a go , last weekend my daughter and some of her friends were down the river and nailed about 20 brim and a 6 kg mulloway from 10.30 to midnight all on prawns .

Can't see why a bream wouldn't have a go at them

Aquaglow

Fri, 2008-01-04 15:20

Top left hand corner of the pic are some called Aquaglow made for Cabella's , suppose to work real good in low light and murky waters , we know the gulps work right thru the night even just casting them out and waiting for a fish to hit them ,you just got to love the gulps , they may stink but fish love them .

The Aqua glow frogs seem to be like snap backs very strong , can't see the fish tearing them up too quickly.

I usually take them out of the packet and tie them onto some fluro leader first  then use them
.
.
Sorry Col it's been a long morning ,I just whack it in it's head and back up thru it's A$$HOLE with the point just comming thru so it doesn't snag the weed , I don't use any weight at all not even a swivel , these hooks are a lot heavier gauge than I usually use so will be seeing if I will buy more or go back to the thin gauge one's , only prob is they don't do 8/0 thin gauge hooks , bet not many people here in WA fish 8/0 hooks in freshwater .
.
.
.
Yes John I know but the beer was soooo cooold and the weather was sooooo hotttt.

I know I know , tuffen up princess .
I just ordered some more of the bright yellow frogs and some other colours for the trip in February as well as some other "creature's" to try .

That's the Mav I know

Just wondering how they would sit with the OH shank to offset eye, but if you have the bend squarely up the rectum, guess you wouldn't need the keeper attributes of a jig head.

Have you had a chance to evaluate the hind leg swimming action set as you said buddy?

Be very interested how they go!

And you are certainly right about 8/0 hooks!

I think you aren't following my description so I will rig one up and take a pic , the hook goes right thru the head ( from the top thru the bottom ) and sits in the bend near the eye of the hook then back up thru the SP near it's bum , the bend and shank of the hook doesn't sit in the lure , act's more as a keel.

Salmo , I don't get out to the tackle stores much but the one's I do don't carry much in freshies, it's a lot easier to buy over the net for this type of lure especially price wise , US , Japan and Europe have shedloads more creatures and with the A$ the way it is I am taking advantage of it.

Any body out there fished frogs for bream yet , any results ???
