SP stinger setup experiment

SP stinger setup experiment

After seeing a few people asking Michael Poole about his stinger setup that he used on his SP to catch his Coral Trout(http://fishwrecked.com/image/nice-coral-trout-jurionbay#new), I thought some people might find it interesting to see the setup I experimented with and have had great success with. Did this after having a few occasions of Dhui's attacking the rear of the large SP's but not hooking up. The rear stinger hook is inserted into the SP at the rear, though obviously rips out most times during the fight. Haven't ever had it slip off the main hook as I guess the barb stops it running all the way off.

Don't know if this is the same setup up you run Michael Poole, but another way of doing it at least.

People might think it looks rubbish but believe me it catches the fish every time, all my fish are caught on that back hook. It must just be that aggressive strike and bang your on.

Any luck with Baldies Michael? I know from experience they are the most finnicky fish to take a bait. Good on ya for experimenting.

Any greater hook up rate of smaller undesirables with this setup?

Does the stinger affect the action of the lure much?
