Fish Species Identification

Fish Species Identification

Up in Coral Bay at the moment for our Daughter Jade's (and new son in law Mick) wedding yesterday - only just recovered enough to have my first beer (far too much red wine last night.

We went out on Bernie Vale's Mai Mai III charter - we did pretty well, though didn't manage to raise any marlin or catch as many 'reds' as we would have all liked.

Anyway, been through DOF's Pilbarra Fish Species guide and can't quite match this one. What is it please guys - Not a Red, Chinaaman, Coral Trout, Moses or Saddle Tail...

Hope everything is going OK for you now. Looks like a perch to me. Then again I could be wrong.

Sore

On antibiotics because there is a bit of infection inside somewhere but got a call from the transplant team that the kidney recipient is off dialys and doing well so all good.

Ended up with a scar the size of an open cut mine because they cut an artery that wasn't supposed to be there and couldn't stop the flow via the keyhole method

I agree with the consensus above - Crimson Snapper Lutjanus erythropterus    (or one of the other common names listed above...:-)

Yes, as they say, it's been a long time between (Piscatorial) drinks! Far too long! We'll certainly be getting out in Dreamweaver when we get back down south (so hopefully look forward to reports) before we sell Dreamweaver and get into a pair of "Yaks" We will be looking at acquiring a pair of Hobie Mirage Pro Angler 12s!
