Good fish there matey, for a second I wondered why you had the rod on the BBQ.

Ignore some of the miserable old farts mate, it's a jealousy trait

Would of given you a bit of curry on 30lb, good shit

Nothing wrong with a few details to go with a pic MOB, regarding the miserable bit mate you may need to look in the mirror.

Less is more you reckon?

Few details at the start helps prevent a thread through full of questions and helps put a good capture into perspective.

I know where you are coming

Sun, 2011-01-23 00:10

I know where you are coming from Big fella, but I'm guessing this is a young bloke popping his Cherry on here.

It is the second post i have read where FF have banged on about posting up more details etc. in response to a new poster.

Maybe I'm reading the wrong vibes, but criticism after a first post is not going to encourage more folk to join.

Anyhoo, I don't mean anything personal, and whatever makes you think i am miserable old fart

Could have been phrased better but I don't think anyone could criticise Russ and Sandy for not having anyone's best interests at heart.

Top capture off a jetty, hoping to find some in the 'Further North' in the near future.

I never questioned  anyones best interests' or good nature. I merely pointed out the " abrasive " responses to a couple of new guys' posts.

I am sure they are lovely people, but there posts did not reflect that.

You are right, " Top capture off a Jetty. "

That would have been suffice.

Guesswork

Sun, 2011-01-23 12:21

When I first looked at the pic my first thought was "where have I seen that type of gridmesh?" That was answered for me when he has replied to Russ' questions.

It makes it a real top catch off Hedlands town jetty because the tide fairly screams through there making landing any decent size fish difficult.

Cheers "Carnarvonite", wasn't too bad that nite, there was only about 6m of tidal varience, lucky for me it was near the top of the tide as i was fishing solo, not a sole in sight

nice

Sun, 2011-01-23 14:01

argh the old sealanes jetty..... nice work mate and congrats on a nice jew.....

very popular spot some evenings and the fishing can go offfff!

trick we used to run with was to let them run and run on a light drag setting before bringing them in almost buggered - therefore they lack the energy to brick ya! not saying they still dont win....

good eatting size too - well done

Jetty

Sun, 2011-01-23 16:08

Remember the jetty well for the wrong reasons. Used to tie the dinghy up and leave plenty of slack rope to allow for the tide while we were on shore only to return and find the dinghy swinging in the breeze with the fuel tanks dangling below it because some #$%^%$# thought he was doing the right thing tied it up short.

Deckies always rushed down to the lower levels to see what gear they could find from the previous high tide.
