What rig set-up (hooks, line weight etc) do you use for deep water fishing?

PM if you prefer

Cheers,
Sam

Do you prefer abd overhead or spin reel when fishing deep Tim?

Fri, 2009-01-30 06:46

That must have been hard on the arms bringing that pair up.

Depends

Fri, 2009-01-30 19:44

Depends Colin.

I like Spin for jigging and O/H for cranking up the heavy sinkers when bait fishin. Spin reels arent really designed to fish with 50oz of lead.

Thanks Tim

Pulling up 50 oz from 200 m plus sounds like serious work for serious reels.

Nice work Tim. 2 x 10kg

Fri, 2009-01-30 08:24

Nice work Tim. 2 x 10kg fight harder than 1 x 20kg eh? At least until the swim bladder goes.

Nice fillets there mate.

Awesome Tim

Top stuff Tim. I'm going to have to get myself into the deep water stuff when I get back in April.

Three days without it and I get a little jumpy
