Went really hard Colin. Had us guessing all the way to the top. It started out like a big shark, slow powerful run. Then it was more like a sambo trying to get back to the bottom and when it was close to the surface it was more like a big dhuy. Dead weight. When it surfaced it suprised both of us.
It was caught on a shimano 200 t-curve and a tyrons 16 reel with 30lb braid using a fresh cuttlefish leg which was caught minutes before.
Very solid nugget that one - would have given you some curry. Have only ever caught 3 and the biggest was only 50cm which was released but they were all on jigs which was cool
yep they sure know how to pull, just a strong dogged fight. Very tasty too, so that'll see you guys in meat for a while. Been too long between blues for me.
