That's Zinc coaters Likc and I use them  but no good for a boatrailer. There's a few galvanisers around, and I would shop aroun d with them as price differs a lot. I use Ferogalv as they are fairly reasonable.

Don't need to blast as the

Don't need to blast as the galvaniser has acid dips. Only if it is really far gone and caked on. You'd probaly be looking at a couple of hundred for a blast if you have to. Galvanising depends on the weight of the item +5% mutiplied by the galvanising rate.

Just had my tandem done, used Westgalv. They picked it up in Bunbury on a Thursday and it was done and back here by Monday morning great service. It was acid bathed and then gal dipped, cost including transport here and back $625 , $50 each way of that was for transport.Boat goes back on trailer today.Well worth doing as i priced a new trailer at $8500,mine has set me back around $1200 and it looks brand new.

That sounds like pretty good value - I'm looking at doing the same.

When you say they picked it up, surely you mean disassembled ?

Yeah mate i completely pulled the whole thing apart, so only sent the 3 main components, they charge by the weight of the thing .I think it was around $2.50 a kg. My main aim was to save the main frame so didnt replace the running gear as i had done that 18mths previous just touched it up with rust buster and galv spray paks.I will try dig up some before and after pics.
