If you are on the hunt for spots and will be searching for ground, Id atleast head to Mindarie or better still Two Rocks, more of a chance hittin up some ground that will produce in the 30s for instance. Rosie can vouch for Two Rocks hay mate? He hasnt found it too hard findin some good fish on jiggy jig

I tend to look at bom,
I tend to look at bom, bouyweather and rotto forecasts now I fish offshore. Onshore location forecasts and actual conditions can differ from offshore conditions. In saying that, it might get a bit choppy thurs arvo, nothin too bad

I watch rottnest as well and it's much the same as ocean reef at the moment. The BOM will always go the conservative forecast and add 5 knts onto everything.

Got to ocean reef ramp
Got to ocean reef ramp before first light. In the water and away by 6 am. Conditions perfect. (Logged on with the brand new VHF radio :)). Headed 20+ miles out and dropped the lines about 7.45 in 70 metres.
Tried a few spots in the area for one u/s black arse, caught by my deckie.... in fact he caught all the fish :(
Not long after that he pulled up a 54 cm baldie :) from about 60 m.
Checked the radio 20 miles out and sea rescue gave us a 4 x 4. Happy with that.
Not a lot of other action so we slowly moved back towards land. Deckie pulled up a 43 cm queen snapper, the first one caught on my boat.
Back at the ramp by 13.30 and my deckie was happy to leave me the queen snapper. :)
Oh and tim-o. Water temp in close about 19+ degrees. Out wide about 20+ degrees.
Superb day on the water even if I didn't catch a fish. :)

Wednesday night / Thursday
Had a good time Wednesday night in 25m of water. Dhu on plastic and snapper on bait. Deckie got two nice snapper.
Squirt home for 3 hours sleep then back to Hillarys for 5am launch. Fishing north of Rotto in less than 40m jigged up a baldy and a snapper to bring home. Brother got a baldy and BA.
...Bit of a Demersal frenzy knowing the ban isn't far away!
Full of fish and totally buggered :)

Gme gx600 or something like
Gme gx600 or something like that. When I was reading the instructions I discovered there is a high (25 watt) and a low (1 watt) transmitting strength setting. If your display has "Lo" on it, you are transmitting on low power. Much sure you're transmitting on high. Also I mounted a 2.4 m antenna on the rocket launcher to get as much height as possible.
