Targeting Blue Eye Trevalla in the south west

Gday all, there is one fish that is on my realy want to catch list and thats the blue eye trevalla . I was after any info that might put me in the ball park for targeting these fish, ie depth to sound , prefered baits jigs ect.I generally fish the s/w waters Grace Town through to Myalup and would assume they haunt the same depths up and down the coast. I have a hds10 unit with 600w transducer which has given me readings in the 200m to 250m mark travelling slowly..i would love to give it a good crack this summer.Any info would be greatly appreciated.. cheers

Sounder

Personal thoughts are you are going to struggle with that sounder, although no sw expert, as a minimum id expect you will be starting over 250. Search for user bryce or harro and have a look at a few of their posts when it comes to good days out and the sounder depths, having a 1kw is basically the minimum standard once you get into deep water stuff unless youve been given marks.

No expert mate, but caught a few blue eye in the last couple of years.

Like Adam said you need a 1KW transducer to start with, also 250M is too shallow for blue eye IMO.

The shallowest we caught blue eye is 350M+

Again no expert, I am talking North of Rotto and above, better visit Oceanside Tackle and have a word with Ryan or

Talk to Bryce day/Reece FW/Reece Furuno

 All the best.

At the moment i only have a 600w transducer , my mate i fish with in exmouth has a 1kw airmar transducer that he fits to his tinney once a year when we head up , then sits in a box at home for 11 months of the year . If i can scrounge up a transom bracket , jobs on.
