Tantas is Fine

Wed, 2015-04-01 20:26

Tantas is Fine well almost......   Is useable on all tides but only 1 ramp on low tide the left one isnt useable on low tides. Its been like that for a long time now. May get a bit busy in the holidays.   Only got 50mm rain the other day.    One thing though the shire bulldozed the old toilets and the fish cleaning table with it. So no fish cleaning at tantas.  If anyone reading this is coming up for the holidays and tenting it I would advise to bring some extra shade as the trees up here all coped a floggin and there aint much shade.

Northern ramp

Thu, 2015-04-02 21:57

On low tide the northern ramp can be a battle for larger boats. There's a shallow patch halfway down the jetty which is the result of sand being pushed up into a sand bar from boats driving on trailers. Mine's 7m and actually had better luck on the southern ramp. Just meant my wheels pushed through some sand of which when driving out they found their way through the sand and gripped onto the ramp.

I am amazed that the shire

I am amazed that the shire have not replaced the fish cleaning facilities, I gather you now have to fillet at the marina? If this is where everyone has to now go have they increased the number of bins and cleaning tables if not there is going to be quite a wait to clean your fish let alone fish frames overflowing out of the bins.

we are heading up next week so if this is the case we may need to bring our own filleting table.

Bring your own if you can.

Bring your own if you can. The cleaning tables down at the Marina are now average at best. The stainless table has gone and replaced by a wooden top. The shade has not yet been put back up since the cyclone so will be hot. There is a table at Bundegi but it doesnt get looked after and has crap everywhere.
