Rotto Weekender

I am planning on heading over to Rotto for the long weekend on a trailer boat. I was just wondering what people do with their trailer for a couple of nights while away. I'm based around Freo and have heard reports about a lot of theft and woodman pt. Im also not sure on the maximum stay at the East Freo ramp and how safe it would be to leave a trailer with a vehicle. Are there any tricks to keeping your trailer locked to your car to prevent theft?

....to take it home and get a lift back.  A mate of mine left his at Freo a few years back and when he got back his trailer was gone.  Until this happens to you, you can't imagine how difficult it is to get your boat home in these circumstances.

I always considered my membership of the CPBA to be great value for the secure parking and wash-down facilities alone before you even include any of the other club facilities and social events.
You can even use their finger pens while working on your trailer etc.

I am a new member this year for a lot of reasons but you cant beat the feeling of going to sea for however long at whatever time of day or night and knowing that everything will be in one piece when we get back.

 East Freo ramp for parking

East Freo ramp for parking would cost a small fortune .. De-Crais on another thread mentioned Woodies Cafe offer secure overnight parking for $25 I think it was .. or someone here that lives close by might be tempted with some beers to park in their drive ..

Max of about 3 or 4 nights

Tue, 2015-03-31 13:45

Max of about 3 or 4 nights at Leeuwin boat ramp on one ticket but if you want more you just purchase more than one ticket and display them on your dash.

I've left my car and trailer there for 3 nights without problems.

I spoke to the council ranger that looks after that car park and asked him if there's many break-ins and he said he'd never come across any and I've never seen any broken glass from smashed windows in that car park unlike woodman point that has smashed glass in the car park on a regular basis.

Only thing I've done is chained/locked the trailer's spare tyre/hub to the trailer as it's a new rim and tyre and the trailer has 2 locks on the hitch so it wouldn't be too easy to nick
