Pen prevail

Hello everyone

I have a two piece pen prevail, it is  agreat rod but i have the problem that after lots of casting the top section can work its way loose and fly off if i don't notice it, i also have the same problem when catsing lures for hours on end with my three piece raider rod. I was wonderign if any one has had this problem and was wondering hwo you fixed it?

nah you can put super glue round the bevel to improve the interference and sand down as required....rather than physically glue it together.

Bit of wax might help too

 Don't wax as you'll never

Don't wax as you'll never get the wax off later. Wax also sticks to dirt, sand, etc. Super glue better. What you do is wear a disposable glove, put a few drops on the male section and quickly smear as evenly as you can and let dry completely. Try for fit and if still loose smear some more. If too much then use 800 or more grit sandpaper (can buy just one sheet from auto shop).

I am still a little scarred from when i lost the top when i went to go cats a big heavy slug and the line snapped and at that same moment teh rod tip went flying away into teh sun set at the same time, i sadly did retreave the rod tip because i was up on a small cliff and the swell was aroudn 2.5m.
