navionics app for iphone 3

i have a jailbroken iphone 3 off ebay and i want to put the navionics app onto it, but it keeps asking to update the iphone to a new version.
if this is done via the itunes store it will lock my phone apparantly.
so can i get the older version of the navionis app to suit my phone, my phone is 4.2.1 version.
or dose someone know how to update the phone without locking it??
can someone help with this???

shouldnt lock it
as far as i know your phone should not lock but if you try it and it does please dont blame me lol

I put it on a friends iphone
I put it on a friends iphone 3 but it needed to be updated first. Apparently you have to update, no way around it according to a mate that works at an apple store. You won't be able to get the old version of the app. Best bet will be as you mentioned to try find someway to update without getting your phone locked.

There is new jailbreak
There is new jailbreak programs available called absinthe 2.0 or Quasar can be down loaded for a fee thru ITunes.
So if it does lock it,not likely you can jailbreak it again.
Jailbreaking is only done by telco company's to keep you under their control, big brother.
