Well it's horses for courses.
Not many takes on a forum like this, but a first timer or dad and young boy might like the day out. Heck just the boat trip might be nice for some non fishos. At least you would be on the water. No connection to me, just that sometimes the simple things like a day on a boat could make someone's year.

Its aimed at a specific market, and obvious that the customers wouldn't know a stella from a alvey. They would probably think they hooked the reef if they were onto a sambo. Seems like this pops up every time the charter advertises.
If you don't have a boat I would think its a good way to have a day on the water with the kids.

bloke i work with had his charter with them cancelled
6 times as they wont go out in any more than ten knots or 1m swell ,he just gave up in the end didnt even get his money back so good luck with that

not every one can afford a 5m plus boat, not alot people have a change of evea going on a boat,, well it has work because people like the above have put it on a public sight, now more and more people will see it and think that could be a nice day out...

I dunno, people who see that add and have never fished, or don't fish often could easily get the wrong idea. 1st off there is a big picture of a game boat with these massive over head reels and then the text saying "deep sea". I kinda think that might put expectations higher then they should be. Maybe scrap the deep sea bit and change the photo to something else. Maybe a dad with his son holding a decent skippy or KG, would still appeal to their target audience and would be alot more accurate. Just think they would get more positive comments that way.

A friend of mine took his daughter on this and as the add says - stop on the way to rotto. They fished south side of rotto, sure not 150m deep but still 15 - 20 km offshore.
And for what its worth to you - they had a blast.
EDIT if there is to be a complaint I think the availability of their bookings is questionable.

Anyway, yeh I reckon it would be a good introduction to people starting out and who want to give it a go without spending a motza. If they took the time to show some basics, they would 'cull it'.

The charter I went on was woeful and I felt for the people who clearly went on it for a day on the water.

nah mate, does the same year round. Have a freind who said the boat felt like it was about to sink with 18 people on it. came in early for that reason apparently. This stuff comes up every time it is posted on scoopons, deals etc and its always the same. Spend the extra hundred and fifty bucks and get out with a reputable, decent charter and you will actually catch fish and enjoy your time on the water!

Don't mind if I decided to buy the voucher myself, but many are bought by others to give as presents. I used to complain to my missus how I rarely get any decent fish from my boat, so for a birthday present my missus bought me a couple of discounted fishing vouchers as a birthday present.( I've touched on how these went before) so my guess is that a few of us out there this Christmas will get this as a thoughtful present with the added quality rod and reel.

Don't want to bag someones business here so ..but maybe they would do a lot better and build a better reputation if they actually targeted the Whiting, herring, garfish, skippy that frequesnt the areas they fish in, simply drift out a bait or two for the passing Sambos or shark to provide the excitement factor. Then they would have a nice little business I reckon ...They could then make it a educational thing as well. Showing how to rig, bait,fillet and the like. Hmmmm ... Wonder if they want to sell. I could do with a nice little business like that !!!!
