In close getting fished out?

We fished saturday the 1st of march, around the north mindarie - tworocks area in 35-45m, and had a pretty poor day.

Visited atleast 25 spots and I counted 3 that actually had fish on them, we have caught fish from these spots before (about 3 months ago), but yesterday very little.

Spots that produced were out quite a bit further.

how many people are fishing these spots? as we spotted 2 charters, and quite a lot of other boats.

that the people up north of the river would start experiencing it. for us souther river people have had this. problem for many years now. i remember having spots close in that allways produced but now with every boat heading out to these areas on the way out they do get overfished and we have had to start going further for fish. this also reasons why we are very protective of spots we find so that we can FISH FARM ther are and not abuse it hoping not many others find it.

Cant understand how 20 odd

Mon, 2008-03-03 19:38

Cant understand how 20 odd spots in 35-40m had hardly any fish on them , and we only pulled breaksea off spots which were flat coral, and thats all we had in closer.

Prehaps they have moved in with the crays, but seemed strange.

Thats fishing i have had

Mon, 2008-03-03 20:22

Thats fishing i have had days were we done 80 mile round trip for zip ,and the next time bingo I think alot off the fished out spots are the ones that have craypots on them. Every man and his dog finds and marks them ,then every weekend thay go to the same spots, this does tend to fish these spots out.I spend hours looking and finding new ground I drive stright passed craypots ,let the mob have them I have seen fish on the sounder so thick yet not a bite, and the same place next trip only a few fish and you land 4-5 good fish , keep on looking for that fresh ground and you'll come up with fish..happy fishing

Dean, i dont think inclose is getting fished out but we assume that all lumps/grounds should have/hold fish but not the case. I've had it where i've gone to plenty of lumps (like you did) and they're dead but they light up in certain months. Some lumps always have fish/life....they're the ones i try to farm in particular.

Robs on the money too........better stuff to come!
