Great work pete.  I have been off them now almost 5 yrs.  I put on 12 kgs, but over the last eighteen months I have lost that and I am now 2 kilos lighter than when I gave up smoking.  Feeling much better now than 5 years ago!

Keep it up, its worth it!

Food tastes four times better too

Gave up a 60 a day habit cold turkey to go diving 20 years ago having started smoking at 13 and had smoked heavily for 30 years - nearly took it up again after a close encounter with a white, sure as hell felt like one that day :-)

Good luck with your efforts, you are well over the first hurdle and now it is all mental not physiological

 Great effort mate, my dad

Tue, 2014-02-11 06:15

Great effort mate, my dad was a smoker all his life and passed due to a smoking related illness, having seen what happens towards the end of someone's life I would urge all smokers to quit and congratulate you as I know that it is extremely hard habit to quit.

Doing the same

Never was a heavy smoker some days a lot more (booze factor) than others. Since November have inhaled a few. Been good no real bad withdrawal symtoms.

Went cold turkey @ 32, smoked since I was 13 - what a bloody fool

Could of bought a lot of bait and fuel with the money wasted

Do not give in, once you have broken the chain and walked away you will never regret it

It is 17 months for me one point to remember don't even have one, have one and you will be back where you started from. Hope it keeps going well for you, and wear the extra pounds with pride.

They say the more often you try the greater the chance of success, so just keep trying!  Or do what I did and take serious drugs and deal with their horrible side effects....
