Alluminium Kill Tank insulation?
Submitted by nev on Sat, 2009-10-31 06:36
Hi boaties
I have a Kill Tank in my Ally boat which really doesn't get used a great deal.I have tried using ice in there but it melts quickly due to not being insulated. Any suggestions or ideas on insulation to use?
Thanks .....

any chance you can plumb it
any chance you can plumb it out the back of the boat and have it as a self flooding kill tank ?? it wont keep the fish colder but its still an idea for you .. fish are pretty good held this way for a fair while and if you have a bung on the inside it can be used as a standard kill tank anyway.

Get an ali fabricator to put
Get an ali fabricator to put insulation in the lid and put a skin on the underside of the lid. most of the heat comes from through the lid. Makes a huge difference. We have done it with all our tanks.
