Hi fishwreckians.....

First time poster so bare with me please.... Heading out of gero down to African Reef for a look tommorrow... Any one fished this patch just before ... howd you go????

If you havent been down there before then please be very wary and take extreme care. it can be a very dangerous place.

Especially when the swell is down . Waves can just appear from no where .........

Fishing in the area can be fantastic....anything from Dhufish Pinkies Baldies etc etc and Mackeral too.

Take care is all I can say. And of course good luck with the fish.

fishing is pretty good though stAy deeper than 15 metres if theres any swell

Worth a troll for macks just on the seaward side of the "death zone". Was getting spaniards up until july last season.

Thanks fellas for the heads up as i see what you mean bout death zone.... fished hard all day but not much love one nice spangly on the first drift up there and the old boy lost one that he coudnt stop...... trolled up and back no hook ups..... ( wish i had read the thread before i went cuz i woulda trolled off the back).... saw plenty of tuna busting up on the way home ,threw lures at em ,trolled past em... (bloody tuna) lots of big nw blowies to add but ey .... thats fishin..... might head straight out somewhere tommorrow a bit deeper ( such good looking ground up here compared to metro ) hopefully can find a few more table fish on my last day here.....
