Top Reels

They were top of their class when they were first introduced on the market but sadly not produced any more.

Auto 2 speed, wider spool for more capacity than the 9000, centrifugal over run brake and no line leveller to stuff up.

Had one for years till a certain person lent his tackle box to a rellie and never saw it again. Paid $140 for it in 1969 and another $100 for a Len Butterworth "The Rocket" 9 wrap, 12foot beast of a rod. Caught many huge fish and sharks on it over the next few years.

There was a cheaper version introduced about 5-6 years after the 10.000ca came out, called Abu 10s, not near as good as the originals.

Drag

No idea on what the drag strength would be---we didn't bother with such trivial thinks then.
15kg mono will be ideal and not just for in the Swan, used mine everywhere. Got spooled on the first 4 casts at Quobba using 40lb mono [no braid those days] in 1970 on unstoppables. Caught dhues from boats, pinkies, samson fish and salmon from rocks and beach.
