Abrolhos Islands Live Aboard Charter

G'day all...  I'm in a very unfortunate position.....

well, not really...

The missus is looking to send me away for a while..  on a live aboard charter to the Abrolhos!!!!  haha!

Now the question I have for you, is who has done a live aboard charter, what company did you go with, how do you rate the charter company, and of course the overall experience.  I've checked out all the reports people have done, and it just looks amazing and I've been licking my lips hoping to go on one for a while, then got home last night and had the bomb dropped on me.

She's looking to get rid of me for around a 4 day trip (5 including stop over).

What did you bring with you (in terms of fishing gear, and personal gear)

where did you leave your vehicle securely?

and, any other tips you can all offer would be appreciated.

thanks!

Hi Justo82,I have done 2

Hi Justo82,

I have done 2 Abrolhos charter with Saltwater Charters WA - Craig is the skipper. He's a laid back down to earth bloke, great skipper and knows what he is doing. I have posted a report before so just search for my User ID & subject Abrolhos May 2012.

Just came back from another one 2 days ago and will be posting my report up soon - when I am done cleaning up my gears!

Essentially, we did trolling, bottom bash, jigging, soft plastics, and top water action - stickbaiting & popping. Just bring what you have, whatever you don't, Craig and loan to you.

Personal gear - clothing, sun block, alcohol, additional tip bits - all meals are served including morning and afternoon tea.

Leave your car at the place where you board his boat. It's pretty safe - no break ins that I know of....yet.

Give Craig a call - or go to Saltwate Charters WA fb page and have a look.

Enjoy.

Geraldton parking

Parking at the harbour is pretty safe and most people on the charters do it, havent heard of any problems.

Quite busy and security/coppers swing thru regularly, it wouldnt worry me leaving mine there.

Similarly at the marina ramps-my car usually goes home but Ive seen many a car and trailer parked there all weekend/Easter etc and never heard of any problems.

AND-the parkings FREE as well as ramps etc

Great Skipper ( Aldo ), boat and deck crew.

Didnt matter what we wanted too do, He made it happen.

Basic clothing and ya fishing gear, took a light jig rod with a medium bottom out fit. I took my own rigs, plastic, Jigs and Rigs etc. Hourbour parking was free and safe.
