9ft fwa rod

Can someone give me a review of the 9 ft fwa fishing rod. Looking at a lure rod, was also looking at the penn prevail or shimano catana nano xg. Cheers fellas.

Review

Awesome rod mate I got mine just before a kalbarri trip. Only used poppers and it handled everything with ease. I accidentally shortened mine via a car door and actually prefer it a little shorter with a stiffer tip but that's just me. It easily slams out 2-2.5 ounces could probably push 3 and still handle it. Salmon season at cheynes was a breeze too. Caught too many to count and absolutely no problem. It's real light too lots of grunt but enough flex to feel every bite when using bait.  Definately a good choice of rod

I also have one.  Great rod for the price.  Use it for throwing lures at tailor with stradic 5k.

Will hurl a blob out miles with 10lb braid.

Good for lures too. Worth the money from what I have seen. Bought one for the FIL. He loves it. So light yet strong.

cheers,

Tue, 2014-05-27 22:08

Is there a store that sells all the fwa gear these days or just at Oceanside? Penn prevail can be had for about $130 off ebay, wondering the price of fwa 9 footer too.

i got the 9' Eupro from

Thu, 2014-05-29 08:20

i got the 9' Eupro from Sherbert a couple of years ago, awesome rod for flicking heavier lures for 70+ tailor and salmon, really nice casting action.

I also used it to drop a couple of GT heads on wire trace over the side of the broome jetty and it handled a decent sized lemon shark no worries!!

love it.

 most of the bluewater chain

Tue, 2014-05-27 22:17

most of the bluewater chain sell the fwa gear, also there is the dedicated fwa extreme tackle shop on Dellamarta Rd in Wangara which recently opened. However Oceanside do offer 10% discount and i prefer to support local business and see the product i'm purchasing rather than take a chance with ebay just to save a few bucks

9ft rods

Indeed the Extreme 9ft rod is definitley one of the best in its class. We normally stock 20 of these at a time as we sell so many. Unfortunatley the supplier doesnt have any more for approx another 4-6 weeks. We do have instock at the moment the Penn Prevail 9ft. A very good rod in its self. I slighty slower taper than the Extreme rod. Let us know if you need one.

Cheers
