Absolutely awesome fish. To break a 62 year world record obviously takes some work.

How the hell did they get it on the boat??

Wed, 2012-01-25 08:58

A feat catching it for sure, but just think about what they did to get it onboard. Perhaps towed it in. Some drooling Sashimi lovers on here I bet. Fish is probably worth a few T$$.

Unchilled for several hours and not fully bled, i'm not sure if it would be quite sashimi grade, but certainly a lot of tasty bluefin steaks!

Now where did that oroshi bocho go...

Theres a write up in the latest BlueWater Mag. Kiwi angler Eryn Jacobsen caught out from Nova Scotia. 600 m first run had it boated in about 90 minutes. Not a bad effort eh!

Giants

Wed, 2012-01-25 12:47

If you want to see something impressive google PEI and check out there annual big blue fin run which they call giants{ only happens for a few months}. Although not line class style, fish are caught into the 1000 +lb range and on stand up tackle with masssive drag pressures {especially guys like Dennis Braid and a few others } All catch and release and definatly on my to do list one day !!!!!

Cheers fishfish...
