You need to give us some more informating regarding a rod for that reel.  What will you use this for- beach, boat, jetty/ rockwalls etc  What you plan on using it for determines the style of rod you match it up to.

With regards to braid, there is a large range you can buy, from the top line stuff like Varivas and some of the Saltiga braids, then you've got the lesser, quality more affordable brands like Finns etc.  Its still good stuff, just slightly larger diameter then the really expensive gear.

there are a lof of differing opinions regarding braid.  Don't forget to use the search function (to the left of the page)  there will be a lot of discussion already on this subject.

I have a 6500 jarvis walker fishing reel but dont know what rod to get. Any one got any tips?

Also was thinking about braid line instead of mono. Whats a good brand of braid or are they all the same

We stock a good range of braid that is from the lower price point end to the up market stuff. The new Extreme braid is great value at $26.95 for the 150m spool stuff and $44.95 for the 300m stuff. Ryans been away up north filming with it recently and gives it the thumbs up.
