4.5 to 5m Tinny
Submitted by Occy85 on Sat, 2014-04-12 22:13
I am looking at buying a 4.5 to 5m tinny for the pilbara waters. What would people recommend? Looking at it being an all round boat for creeks and a little island work
Cheers

Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

polycraft , stable to cast
polycraft , stable to cast from even with 2 or 3 blokes on the same side and can take one hell of a beating in creeks, better than any tinny when it gets rough

Quintrex = Expensive for very little....
Polycraft will be better
Just put a decent raised casting platform so you have better casting and deck space, depending on your height you may even be able to camp on it as well.
Drop a Minn Kota on the bow as well and spot lock you way to heaven.
Put max hp on the back as well.
Good rig

Tattoo boats
One of the blokes at work just ordered a tattoo boat that has all the bells and whistles
4.82 metres with a 90 hp susuki he did alot of home work before buying
There are two types of people ,do'ers and watchers
Right now the do'ers are the doing it
And the watchers are watching us do it

I lived in Karratha for 7
I lived in Karratha for 7 yrs with an 1983 5m Quintrex centre console with a 2 stroke 90 Yamaha. It was fantastic up there! Creeks, out wide, beach launching, etc. Older Quintrexs' are cheap to buy and you won't lose too much money on them, yet they will do everything up there without the worry of scratches / dents/ dust / mud etc...

Which one
Thanks for the feedback fellas, yeah i looked at the quintrex renegades and am liking what I see. I have done a lot of home work on the poly craft but they are a wet boat! Looking also at the stacer variety.

Poly s are no wetter than
Poly s are no wetter than tinnies in the same conditions - they just go faster with no hull slam, therefore people might think they are wetter-cause u going faster in the same conditions
stable, no rust, unbreakable ,double skinned, and floats even full of water-just go max HP as they are heavy
test drive one -u wont look back

Trailcraft ProFish 510
I have a 2006 Trailcraft Profish 510 with a 90hp Etec on the back. Its a great boat as a fishing and diving platform with plenty of good features. I get it across to Rotto from time to time and fish a lot behind Garden Island.
