4000 reel advice
Submitted by roganjosh on Mon, 2011-07-18 12:37
HI All,
I need some advice on buying my new reel. I am looking at a 4000 size to hopefully run 20-30lb. It will be used for throwing soft plastic to light bottom bashing up north. I have been doing a bit of research on the net to find the best prices around the world. Here are soem choices and prices if any one can help me.
Stradic 4000 - $190
Sustain 5000 - $199US
Bradia - $335

I have a stradic 4000 that has landed heaps of great fish from snapper and dhuies to big sambos. For the price they're a great little reel! Love it, should easy fit 300m of 20lb and even 300m of good quality 30lb. (just put on 300m of daiwa tournament hyper accudepth a few days ago on mine)

Also think the saragosa 4000
I just love this reel and its very versatile. Probably lacks line capacity but not a problem with plackies and light BB.

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Saragosa
I have a 4000 Saragosa lying here doing nothing mate, Have been think about offloading it for a while. I just don't get use out of it as I am 99.9% landbased and have other options.
10/10 condition, spooled with 25lb coloured YGK Braid, also comes with a spare spool (which you don't normally get with a gosa) which is spooled with 20lb Platypus Super Braid.
Let me know if your interested mate, I'll send you some pics.
Will sell for $190, have all reciepts, box etc...

Man for the extra $29, you
Man for the extra $29, you would be mad not to buy it locally.
10 year warranty has to be worth $29 any day of the week.
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

$29 Bucks worth it
Definatly i aggree with you $29 bucks is money well spent. Just keeping my options open with other reels like the Rarenium. Is it the same as the Stradic Ci4, or is it different.

if you really need it to be a light reel get the stradic ci4 4000, but if an extra 60 grams in weight doesnt worry you (which it shouldnt because a 320 gram reel is still bloody light) get the sustain fe 4000.
