2012 CARNARFIN - Deckie spot(s) available.

G'day All,

I am planning a trip up to my old home town of Carnarvon at the end of the month for the 2012 Carnarfin.

Two of the boys have pulled out, so it is just myself and the old man hauling our 26Ft Seafox all the way to Carnarvon - Nothing will stop me!

If anyone else is going and would like to come out for a day(s) fishing PM me and we will suss it out, or come and have a chat down the Gassy Hotel on sunday for registration (is a must...)

Can't miss us, Gun metal grey Mazda BT-50 4WD (ute) and a rather large tub with twin 115's Merc's...

Anyone else attending this year?

cheers.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

same as ryan- im heading back home on the 14th for a couple of weeks- no line ups at the (albeit new) boat ramps and less radar/ pingers floating around. Ryan, what dates are you up there?

Security

Mon, 2012-05-07 21:03

Haven't heard of any cars getting broken in to while parked up over night at the ramp during the last 4-5 competitions as the local coppers keep a close eye on any comings and goings during the back shifts.

Sea rescue radio coverage is from 0600 through to 1800 from the base and its hoped to get extra from a new proposed home base until 2200-2300. I will be down at the Gassy on the Sunday registration plus on the weigh ins selling tickets for our raffle----Shimano Stella 10.000, Tcurve rod, Plano tackle box, Shimano shirt and assorted lures as first prize and $500 cash for second prize. Well worth winning.

Vhf 16 to log in then to 73 to give details or channel 88 on 27 meg.

27 meg range doesn't reach the islands  and only just down to the Lady Joyce wreck, very few boats up here carry it now for that reason.

I've got Wednesday and Friday afternoon shifts from 1400 through to 1800 logging boats off as they return and that means checking out who hasn't logged off which can be a real pain in the aspro!!!

Hope to show the flag with one or both rescue boats taking a cruise out there during the week.
