New marina is good, but if
New marina is good, but if you want bait, just go to the ammo dump jetty (hopefully when no one is around) and try there. Thousands of scalies on a day like today, so long as you burly up. Obviously if you intend on using the net straight of the marina rock wall, you might have some trouble. I've tried it a few times and the fish just seem to 'see' you cast it, and well swim away haha. I don't think you will have this problem at woodies (ammo dump) tho.

Licence needed and area restrictions
I thought of having a go at netting for cheap bait last year - but just too hard to decipher the rules - as far as i could make out from the fisheries site, no cast netting allowed from Freemantle to south of June road Safety Bay, so be careful.. the licence is a must - part of the crayfish, abalone, fresh water fish licence - I bought the batch licence, but you need to purchase an individual licence now - just check it out properly, as the fines are huge...also certain types and sizes of net are legal, and it just got far to complicated, so I abandoned the idea... good luck.
